What we do

Hire Trusted Movers is a lead generation and matching service. When you submit a quote request, we send your details to moving companies in our network so they can contact you with a quote.

We are not a moving company, a carrier or a freight broker. We do not move, store or handle your belongings, set prices, or take part in your agreement with any mover. We only work with movers we have verified as registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

Moving companies are independent

The moving companies you hear from are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. Any agreement, estimate, booking, payment, claim or dispute is between you and the mover.

We do not guarantee any mover's quality, pricing, availability, licensing status at any given time, insurance coverage or performance, and matching with a mover is not an endorsement. Before you hire anyone, we encourage you to confirm their DOT or FMCSA registration, get a written estimate, check reviews and understand their liability and insurance options.

Quotes you receive from us or from movers are estimates. Final prices depend on the mover's own terms, and we are not responsible for differences between an estimate and the final cost.

Using the Site

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. You agree that the information you give us is accurate and that you are requesting quotes for a real move.

Electronic communications. You agree to receive notices and other communications from us electronically, and that these satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing. By submitting a quote request, you also consent to calls, texts and emails from us and from matched movers, as described in our Privacy Policy. Reply STOP to any text to opt out.

Acceptable use. You may use the Site only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not submit false or another person's information, use bots or scrapers, interfere with or overload the Site, try to access anything not meant for you, or resell or misuse content or leads from the Site.

Intellectual property. The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos, images and software, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.

Third-party links and services. The Site may link to sites we do not control, including mover sites. We are not responsible for their content or practices. Some services are delivered by third parties, and you agree we may share your information with them as described in our Privacy Policy.

Users outside the U.S. The Site is operated from [the United States / Canada] and is meant for people planning moves there. If you use it from elsewhere, you are responsible for following local law.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SITE AND ALL INFORMATION, QUOTES AND SERVICES ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, THAT ANY MOVER WILL CONTACT YOU, OR THAT ANY MOVER WILL PERFORM AS PROMISED.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, SUPPLIERS AND PARTNERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR FROM ANY MOVER'S ACTS OR OMISSIONS, INCLUDING LOSS, DAMAGE OR DELAY OF YOUR BELONGINGS, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED [ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100)].

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. If you are unhappy with the Site, your sole remedy is to stop using it.

Indemnification and disputes

Indemnification. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms or the law, or your violation of anyone else's rights.

Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at [[email protected]] and give us 30 days to try to resolve it.

Arbitration. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be decided by binding individual arbitration administered by [AAA / JAMS] under its consumer rules, instead of in court, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small claims court. Class action waiver. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND WE MAY BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims.

Governing law, termination, changes and contact

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario Canada, without regard to conflict of law rules. Subject to the arbitration section, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts in Ontario, Canada.

Termination. We may suspend or end your access to the Site at any time, without notice, in our discretion.

General. No partnership, joint venture, employment or agency relationship exists between you and us because of these Terms. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and the provision will be replaced with a valid one that is closest to the original intent. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. We may comply with legal requests relating to your use of the Site.

Changes. We may change these Terms at any time. The version posted on the Site is the current one, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
